Here is what Brothers Roofing and Construction holds, and how you can check each one yourself.
City of Columbus licenses
- City of Columbus Home Improvement Contractor License #HIC04072
- City of Columbus General Contractor Registration #G11270
Both are issued by the City of Columbus to owner William V. Schmidt and are valid through March 31, 2027. These are City of Columbus credentials. Ohio does not issue a statewide home improvement contractor license, so contractors register with the cities they work in.
Check it yourself: use the City of Columbus license search and enter the license number or the business name.
General liability insurance
Brothers carries commercial general liability insurance with Erie Insurance, written on an occurrence basis:
- $1,000,000 each occurrence
- $2,000,000 general aggregate
- $2,000,000 products and completed operations aggregate
The current policy runs from February 2, 2026 through February 2, 2027. The named insured is William V Schmidt DBA Brothers Roofing.

GAF certification
Brothers is a 2026 GAF Certified Residential Roofing Contractor (GAF ID #1107159). That lets us offer the GAF System Plus Limited Warranty on qualifying GAF roofs. Read what that warranty covers on our GAF roof warranty page.
